“Nothing Can Stop… The Sandman!”

The Sandman is a career criminal who can reshape his molecules into sand, allowing him to rob banks and evade the police. Like with previous villains, Spidey’s first encounter with the Sandman doesn’t go well. So our hero must find a clever way to capture a villain that cannot be captured.
Amazing Spider-Man #4 introduces a new villain, and once again, Lee and Ditko show us how clever and creative they can be when it comes to creating weird standout characters. This issue is pretty funny: the Sandman tries to force the school’s principal to award him a diploma; Spider-Man defeats the Sandman using a vacuum cleaner; and Peter takes pictures of himself punching sand to fake his Sandman fight for the newspapers.
